Announcing the Next Three ZED RUN Tournaments!

The Keep-On-Winning Cup, The Maiden Stakes & The Fibonacci Cup 3.0!

We’re committed to trialling new and exciting tournament formats, and while we evaluate your insightful feedback from the recent tournament survey, we’re delighted to announce the next three tournaments: The Keep-On-Winning Cup, The Maiden Stakes, and The Fibonacci Cup 3.0!

All three tournaments offer prize pools of more than $100,000 USD, and we’re also trialling new points structures. The Maiden Stakes is also our first tournament with Entry Conditions!

Keep-On-Winning Cup

The Keep-On-Winning Cup presents a new qualifying points structure, with a strong emphasis on finishing in 1st place. It is also our first tournament that doesn’t feature a Grand Final, so it will conclude at the completion of the Finals. This means each distance funnel will have its own tournament champion.

Maiden Stakes

The Maiden Stakes is our first tournament with an Entry Condition: only un-raced racehorses are eligible. That means a racehorse’s first qualifying race for this tournament must be a Griffin race!

Fibonacci Cup 3.0

We’ll be bringing back the popular Fibonacci Cup tournament format as we head into 2022. This will function similarly to the previous iteration of the tournament, but as always we welcome feedback on all of our tournament formats.

Here is a look at some of the key details for all three tournaments. As always, the full information can be found in our ZED RUN Guide, where we have sections for The Keep-On-Winning Cup, The Maiden Stakes, and The Fibonacci Cup 3.0.

Tournament Structures

Once the Qualifying Periods ends, The Keep-On-Winning Cup, The Maiden Stakes, and The Fibonacci Cup 3.0 split into two (2) different tournaments that will include the top 1,152 racehorses:

  • Tournament A comprises racehorses ranked 1 to 576 at the end of the qualifying period
  • Tournament B comprises racehorses ranked 577 to 1,152 at the end of the qualifying period

Tournament A and Tournament B have identical structures to one another and will both be run during the same one-day finals event for each tournament format.

IMPORTANT! While stamina acts as normal during the Qualifying Period, the tournament finals events will not take stamina into account, so you can race your racehorse right up to the end of the Qualifying Periods and do not have to worry about it not returning to full stamina before the Quarter Finals begin. Please note, your racehorse’s stamina % may still decrease, but stamina will not affect the races.

Prize Pools

Every tournament offers a prize pool, giving every qualified racehorse a chance to win. For The Keep-On-Winning Cup, The Maiden Stakes, and The Fibonacci Cup 3.0, the Qualifying Periods will result in two tournament finals: Tournament A and Tournament B, each with their own prize pools.

We maintain a detailed breakdown of all tournament formats in the ZED RUN Guide.
